Izvleček:The objective of the present investigation was to determine the level of attention by sex of the students of the 9th Year of Basic General Education "A" of the Educational Unit "Juan de Velasco", Riobamba, in the period October 2018- March 2019, where the main beneficiaries were the 35 students who were the main subjects, to carry out this research a non-experimental design was used; the type of research was by place, bibliographic and field, by time; transversal, the level of research; descriptive and correlational, the population is composed of the students of the Educational Unit "Juan de Velasco" and the sample is not probabilistic and intentional, we worked with the 35 students where 17 students belong to the female sex and 18 male sex students, the test Psychometric used to measure the attentional level was the d2 Test of attention of Rolf Brickenkamp the same one that gives to know 3 levels of attention (high, medium and low) that consists of 14 lines with 47 characters with a total of 658 elements, by means of this The interpretation and analysis of the data was carried out, resulting in: 17 female students of which 12 students with a high level of attention, 4 students with an average level of attention and 1 student with a low level of attention, 18 students of male sex of which 8 students with a high level of attention, 9 students with an average level of attention and 1 student with a level of low tension; concluding that female students have a higher level of attention compared to male students.
