Los stakeholders y el desarrollo competitivo del sector agrícola del Cantón Cumandá Provincia de Chimborazo

ABSTRACT: The general objective of this research work is to determine the impact of stakeholders on the competitive development of the agricultural sector of the Cumandá Canton, Province of Chimborazo. To this end, a situational diagnosis of the farm sector was carried out, using four agricultural associations as a sample, with 76 members dedicated to agricultural economic activity. This analysis was based on descriptive, bibliographic, and field research. The results of the surveys carried out revealed that a high percentage of farmers' associations or groups operate without taking into account the relevant stakeholders. This lack of consideration has resulted in a limited perspective toward these groups, which, in turn, has hindered the proper competitive development of their agricultural activities. However, it is encouraging to note that 90.8% of respondents recognize the importance of active stakeholder participation to improve their competitiveness in the market. In addition, the impact that interest groups or stakeholders can have on the competitive development of the agricultural sector in the canton was analyzed. According to the hypothesis test, the results confirm a significant relationship between both variables. It gave way to the design of proposals focused on stakeholder strategies to improve the competitive development of the agricultural sector in Cumandá Canton.
