Čoahkkáigeassu:The present research, entitled “Children’s Theater and Its Impact on the Development of Attention in the Children of the GAIA Educational Center, Riobamba,” aims to evaluate the importance of children’s theater in the development of attention among students of this educational center. A mixed-methods approach was employed, using direct observation techniques and questionnaires administered before and after three theatrical interventions with pedagogical purposes. The sample consisted of preschool children from the GAIA Educational Center. The theatrical plays, performed through puppetry, addressed topics meaningful to early childhood: rules of coexistence, emotions, and primary colors, integrating playful dynamics, participatory questions, games, and body movements that promoted sustained and selective attention. The results show a progressive improvement in children’s attentional capacity after each intervention. Observation records indicated advances in task persistence, detail recall, interaction with characters, and responsiveness to instructions, while the questionnaires revealed a significant increase in selective attention and concentration. It is concluded that children’s theater, when used with a structured educational purpose, is an effective strategy to strengthen attention in early childhood, promoting learning, emotional development, and active participation in the educational process.
