Zusammenfassung:This research project aims to determine the parental socialization style in adolescents of the second year of the Unified General Baccalaureate, of the Pedro Vicente Maldonado Educational Unit, in the city of Riobamba. Theoretically, the research was developed through the compilation of information in books, websites, among others about parental socialization; The methodology used has a quantitative approach, with a nonexperimental design, because of a transversal type, with field research; the population was the adolescents of the Educational Unit "Pedro Vicente Maldonado" of the city of Riobamba, the simple was nonprobabilistic and intentional conformed by the students of the second course of the parallel Unified General Baccalaureate: A, B, C, structured with a total of 47 males and 39 females, thus reaching 100% of the chosen population. To research the parental socialization styles that the students have, the psychometric test of the Scale of Parental Socialization in Adolescents (ESPA 29) of Musitu and Garcia was used, which consists of 29 questions and is composed of two dimensions: Acceptance/Implication and Coercion/Imposition; this instrument also allowed the classification of parents within a socialization style (Authoritative, Indulgent, Authoritarian or Negligent). This instrument allowed the analysis and interpretation of the data to conclude the objectives set out in the research. After identifying and analyzing the results, it was possible to conclude that parents' predominant style in the Educational Unit adolescents is the authoritative style. It is characterized by a complete parent-child communication followed by the indulgent style where the parents maintain a high level of responsibility. However, a low level of demand found the importance of the parental socialization style and how it will influence adolescents' development in their social and family environment.
