| Περίληψη: | ABSTRACT The present tittle research "Incidence of Covid-19 on Tax Collection in the Commercial Sector of the City of Riobamba in the period 2020" aims to evaluate the impact of Covid- 19 on tax collection, as well as to establish how the pandemic affected the commercial sector in La Condamine and to identify the fulfillment with tax obligations in the sector. A deductive research method was used, requiring the extraction of specific facts from general aspects, which will allow conclusions to be drawn using common sense and logical thinking through observation. The research was field-based and documentary, gathering information through surveys, interviews, and websites. It is non-experimental as the variables were not manipulated. The study has a mixed approach, utilizing opinions based on the data obtained, as well as tables and graphics. The research level is explanatory, as the information gathered will allow for a deep understanding of the subject of study, data analysis, and the tools used for information collection. Finally, it concludes by indicating that most businesses in the sector suffered severe impacts not only economically and health-wise but also in terms of maintaining their workforce.
