Přidat tag | Shrnutí: | The objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between ancestral knowledge and health tourism in Colta Canton, Chimborazo Province. The main issue identified is the lack of formalization in the inheritance of ancestral knowledge, which is essential to ensure its authenticity and proper application in health tourism. This study is field-based and quantitative, using a survey technique with a Likert scale as a reference. This method allowed for obtaining the most significant results of the study, targeting the population and tourists visiting Colta Canton, which recorded 90,000 tourists in 2021, according to the Directorate of Tourism of the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Colta. This research concluded that cultural knowledge has a significant influence on health tourism in Colta Canton, as the culture of this canton is deeply rooted in ancestral health practices. Therefore, it is proposed to rescue and apply ancestral knowledge in health tourism in Colta Canton through the creation and promotion of health tourism packages that incorporate ancestral knowledge. This initiative aims to enrich the tourist experience, promote respect for local culture, generate economic benefits for local residents, and contribute to the sustainable development of the tourist destination. |
