Afrontamiento del estrés y síntomas psicosomáticos en pacientes atendidos en Hospital alternativo Andino de Riobamba, período agosto 2016 – enero 2017.

The present project aimed to analyze the coping of stress in psychosomatic symptoms in the patients treated in the hospitalization area of the Andean Alternative Hospital of the city of Riobamba, August 2016 - January 2017; For this purpose, the LSB - 50 Symptom Checklist and LSB - 50 were used. The population assigned to this research consisted of 30 patients and, through the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a non - probabilistic sample of eighteen patients was used; According to the first variable, 55.56% of patients prefer to avoid and / or self-focus negatively on any situation or problem that causes stress, where women tend to focus on the negative of the problem and men avoid any stress situation, In addition, 22.22% of female patients were inclined to religion because of their customs, their environment and even the influence of being in a Christian Hospital; With respect to psychosomatic symptoms, 38.89% of patients suffer from nausea and / or stomach problems and 16.7% headaches, resulting in the fact that coping strategies influence the appearance of psychosomatic symptoms by associating with each other since Strategies mostly used such as avoidance, religion and negative self-focus are closely related to the symptoms of nausea and / or stomach problems and fainting. The methodology that was used in this study was scientific because it was established as a strategy to discover properties of the object of study, psychometric when using quantitative psychological batteries, transversal as it focused on analyzing the relationship between the two variables, documentary based on theoretical realities, Of field and descriptive because the situation and predominant customs were known through the exact description of the variables.
