The type of research applied was descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional. The sample was making up of 45 lateral cephalometric radiographs chosen by a non-probabilistic purposeful sampling. Each lateral cephalometric radiograph was analyzed by using Ricketts and Jarabak’s methods. The measurements were registered in a data collection sheet according to the parameters established by each author to determine facial biotype. The results showed an association between Ricketts cephalometric analysis and Björk Jarabak analysis (p< 0,05). Cohen´s Kappa coefficient was used to determine the strength of agreement. The results showed a value of 0,632, which means a good power of understanding between both methods regarding the diagnosis of facial biotype. It can be concluded that there is no difference in the diagnosis of facial biotype between Ricketts cephalometric analysis and Björk Jarabak analysis. Key words: Facial biotype, Ricketts analysis, Björk-Jarabak analysis, cephalometric. Reviewed by: Ms.C. Ana Maldonado León ENGLISH PROFESSOR C.I.0601975980
