El testimonio del perito en las causas tramitadas por muerte por exceso de velocidad y su incidencia jurídica en las sentencias emitidas por la Unidad Judicial Penal con sede en el cantón Riobamba durante el periodo de agosto 2014 a julio del 2015.

This research presents expert testimony in speeding death cases in the Criminal Judicial Unit for the Riobamba Canton in Ecuador for the time period of August 2014 to July 2015. The information is presented in five chapters. The first chapter presents the framework of the information, the origins of the problem, general and specific objectives, the rationale and importance of the problem, and applications for attorneys, law students, and the general public. The second chapter is concerned with the theoretical aspects of the research and it is divided into five units. The first unit about criminal proceedings and traffic offenses; the second unit is about speeding; the third unit is about the role of the expert in criminal proceedings transit; the fourth unit is about the testimony of an expert witness in death by speeding cases; and the fifth unit is about the legal impact on the judgments caused by the testimony of an expert witness in death by speeding case. The third chapter presents the methodological framework of the research, the use of interviews and surveys, and the impact on expert testimony in death by speeding cases. The fourth chapter is concerned with the conclusions and recommendations of the research. The fifth chapter presents the references, additional bibliographic information, and appendices related to the research.
