Итог:ABSTRACT: The main objective of this research work was to determine the importance of food for the development of the learning of students of the Preparatory General Basic Education, of the Educational Unit “CICALPA” for this purpose, within the methodology, a mixed type approach is used, due to the use of qualitative techniques and instruments (Interview and Observation Form) and quantitative (Survey Questionnaire), the design is of non-experimental type, due to the fact that there is no manipulation of variables, descriptive, because it describes the problem and solutions to the problem. Field research is also being carried out, because the research and the collection of information was carried out in the educational unit mentioned. The methods of information analysis used were mainly the deductive and analytical method so that all the information collected, additionally the statistical method is applied for the presentation of the results in tables of frequency and cakes with the respective percentages. The main results of the interview were that the interviewee considers that nutrition is indispensable for the academic development of the students, at the same time affirms that a balanced and appropriate diet improves the concentration, well-being and academic performance of the students in school learning. It is concluded that the importance of nutrition in the development of students' learning is undeniable, since there is a clear relationship between proper nutrition and cognitive performance, which shows that eating habits directly impact on the students' ability to concentrate, memory and information processing. It is recommended that educational programmers be implemented to sensitize parents, educators and students to the importance of a balanced diet. Workshops, informative talks and educational materials may be held.
