La reestructuración cognitiva en el manejo de la autoestima en pacientes con cáncer de mama, atendidas en “oncomedic” de la ciudad de riobamba, enero- junio 2013.

This research is conducted in order to determine the effects of the cognitive restructuring in the management of self-esteem in patients with cancer Oncomedic breast served in the city of Riobamba, from January to June 2013. The research is descriptive and quasi-experimental design. The population is 30 patients, but as shown in 10 patients with breast cancer was selected, suitable for the research study. Record Sheet is designed Psychotherapy in order to know the evolution that took participants to apply the technique cognitive restructuring through psychological workshops. was used also an questionnaire to identify most common cognitive distortions in patients with breast cancer, the results were analyzed and interpreted, allowing meaningful conclusions for verification hypothesis, in the first application of the questionnaire presented 30% abstraction selective, 12% fallacy of divine reward, 18% overgeneralization, 5% guilt and the remaining 35% showed catastrophic vision, however after applying cognitive restructuring technique is observed that three patients cognitive distortions retain the following: selective abstraction or mental filter, fallacy of divine reward and guilt. It also applied a reagent called psychological Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, he yielded information esteem levels at baseline and after application of the technique cognitive restructuring.
