Summary:The objective of this research was to analyze and demonstrate how family involvement in the upbringing of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and upbringing styles. A descriptive-level bibliographic study was carried out using the PRISMA methodology. For data collection, searches were conducted in high-impact scientific databases such as Web of Science, Scielo, Dialnet, Redalyc, and PubMed. Articles in English or Spanish were selected, using Boolean operators “AND” and “OR,” with an emphasis on empirical and open-access studies. The process initially identified a total of 146 articles. In this group, 70 were excluded due to duplication, 46 for not meeting the inclusion criteria, and 6 for low methodological quality, resulting in a final sample of 24 studies. The findings show that active family participation in the upbringing of children with ASD supports their emotional, social, and cognitive development. The study identified various upbringing styles, with positive upbringing emerging as the most effective. This approach is based on positive reinforcement, structured environments, and empathetic communication; which facilitate learning and adaptation in children with ASD. It was observed that parents who receive training and specialized support implement more effective upbringing strategies. In conclusion, family involvement is key to the development of children with autism. It is recommended to strengthen support and training programs for families, as well as to continue researching intervention strategies that enhance the parental role in child-rearing.
