要約: | Chambo river aquifer is located in the central zone of the country, this is used by the drinking water systems of the cities of Riobamba and Guano. Ignorance and lack of hydrological and hydrogeological studies impair decision making by water managers for better use, control, and protection of the aquifer. In addition, this aquifer does not have stratigraphic studies that allow to know the hydraulic characteristics of the same one, reason why the objective of this study is to know the characteristics and the structure of the subsoil to understand the stratigraphy and to identify the structures where possibly the conduction can exist Of groundwater. In this case, geophysics is used as a study methodology, as in the past, drilling was carried out in the study area, causing the destruction of natural areas. In this context resistivity electrical tomography is a non - destructive - invasive method, which, together, the geological data and the adequate interpretation of the subsoil stratigraphy. The results obtained in this work show images of electrical resistivity in two dimensions (2D) and the reconstruction of the subsoil in three dimensions (3D), whose data show that the aquifer is of heterogeneous type with zones of hydraulic conductivity due to the presence of sands and gravels and impervious zones with block intrusions, thus showing the hydrogeological potential of the zone. |
