| Crynodeb: | A meticulous investigation allowed verifying the effect of alcohol consumption on labor productivity in Latin American countries during 2000 - 2018. A control variable called financial deepening has been used for the analysis, as well as the methodology of models of Autoregressive vectors and moving averages (VARMA), specifically the VAR model. The results achieved show that, as expected a priori, the exogenous variable negatively affects the endogenous one. On the other hand, the financial deepening variable has a positive influence on labor productivity. Causation in the Granger sense shows that there is a very significant relationship between alcohol consumption and labor productivity. It means at 1%. Conversely, there is a significant relationship at 5% of financial deepening to the explained variable. |
