The main purpose The purpose of this study is to determine whether the revocation of mandate really fulfills its function as an effective mechanism for citizen participation. The research approach used combines quantitative and qualitative methods, as data were collected both numerically and non-numerically. This study is characterized by being non-experimental, cross-sectional and descriptive. Several methods were applied, such as inductive-deductive, legal-analytical, legal comparison, documentary analysis, surveys, and data analysis and processing through the exploratory factor analysis method, the calculation of Cronbach's Alpha and the use of descriptive statistics. The object of study constitutes: documents, books, scientific articles, regulations, laws, judicial rulings and resolutions related to the efficiency of the revocation of mandate and citizen participation. In addition, Ecuadorian citizens between the ages of 18 and 65 who have access to the Internet and are willing to participate in the study were included. A digital survey was applied to 384 people through random probabilistic sampling. The research instrument used reached a Cronbach's Alpha coefficient of 0.996. The exploratory factor analysis identified 4 main factors and 22 items close to 1. The results obtained indicate that the majority of citizens do not perceive the revocation of mandate as an effective mechanism of citizen participation due to various factors. The analysis of the flow chart showed that the revocation process is cumbersome and long, with difficulties for the common citizen, directly and indirectly influencing the inefficiency of this process as a mechanism for citizen participation. The analysis of two judicial rulings also revealed the inefficiency of the citizen participation process in the revocation of mandate, caused by several factors, such as the contradiction of rules and powers, excess regulations and citizen confusion due to lack of information. truthful, transparent and accessible online. El propósito principal de este estudio es determinar si la revocatoria de mandato realmente cumple su función como mecanismo eficaz de participación ciudadana. El enfoque de investigación que se empleó combina métodos cuantitativos y cualitativos, ya que se recopilaron datos tanto en forma numérica como no numérica. Este estudio se caracteriza por ser no experimental, transversal y descriptivo. Se aplicaron varios métodos, como el inductivo-deductivo, el jurídico-analítico, la comparación jurídica, el análisis documental, encuestas, y el análisis y procesamiento de datos a través del método de análisis factorial exploratorio, el cálculo del Alfa de Cronbach y el uso de estadísticas descriptivas. El objeto de estudio constituye: documentos, libros, artículos científicos, normativas, leyes, sentencias judiciales y resoluciones relacionadas con la eficiencia de la revocatoria de mandato y la participación ciudadana. Además, se incluyó a ciudadanos ecuatorianos entre las edades de 18 y 65 años que cuentan con acceso a Internet y muestren predisposición para participar en el estudio. Se aplicó una encuesta digital a 384 personas mediante un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio. El instrumento de investigación empleado alcanzó un coeficiente Alfa de Cronbach de 0.996. El análisis factorial exploratorio identificó 4 factores principales y 22 ítems cercanos a 1. Los resultados obtenidos señalan que la mayoría de los ciudadanos no perciben la revocatoria de mandato como un mecanismo efectivo de participación ciudadana debido a diversos factores. El análisis del flujograma evidenció que el proceso de revocatoria es engorroso y largo, con dificultades para el ciudadano común, influyendo directa e indirectamente en la ineficiencia de este proceso como mecanismo de participación ciudadana. El análisis de dos sentencias también reveló la ineficiencia del proceso de revocatoria de mandato, causada por varios factores, como la contradicción de normas y competencias, el exceso de regulaciones y la confusión de los ciudadanos debido a la falta de información veraz, transparente y accesible en línea.
