| Summary: | The purpose of this research was to determine the level of empathy and the dimensions of the school climate, to analyze the relationship between empathy and the school climate in the students of first Bachelor of Science in the Educational Unit “Camilo Gallegos Toledo”, Riobamba, period April-August 2019, the study variables were empathy and school climate being essential in interpersonal relationships, in peer communication, and in the environment that develops in students. Empathic change either positively or negatively directly affects the school climate by presenting itself in the development of cognitive skills. The methodology used corresponds to a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental design. The types of research, level or scope is descriptive and correlational, the objective is basic, the place is field and bibliographic, the type of study is transversal. The sample was non-probabilistic and intentional and consisted of 117 students. The techniques used were the Cognitive and Affective Empathy test (TECA) with their respective scales and the school climate questionnaire with its dimensions in relation, interest and communication, cohesion and satisfaction of the group, competitiveness, norms, interest and concern, freedom, Space, satisfaction and interest. These allowed a broader interpretation and analysis where most students are at medium levels in empathic dimensions, while a medium-low corresponding to the school climate. The investigation allowed to obtain a positive correlation. |
