Zusammenfassung:Zambrano, F and Maldonado, C (2021). Coping styles in students of the National University of Chimborazo (Grade thesis). National University of Chimborazo. The objective of this research work was to analyze the coping styles in the students of the first and seventh semesters of the Psychopedagogy career at the National University of Chimborazo, it is a highly relevant topic since in the university context positive and negative aspects can be evidenced. negative in relation to internal and external demands, events, situations and problems that are typical of the student's daily life such as frustration, anger, failure, low self-esteem, among others. The project corresponds to a quantitative research, of non-experimental design, by the correlational descriptive level, basic by the objectives, by the field location, bibliographical and cross-sectional, with a sample of 51 students. A psychometric test was applied with its Sandín and Chorot stress coping questionnaire (CAE) to determine which coping style predominates within the two semesters analyzed. The results obtained are that 85% of the students opt for the religion coping style, followed by the open emotional expression style with 55%, in the positive reappraisal with 50%, negative self-focus with 45%, focusing on the solution of the problem with 40%, avoidance with 15% and finally the search for social support with 10%. These results made it possible to show that there is a significant correlation between the study variable, that is, the relationship between coping styles and the gender of the students.
