Complicaciones durante el embarazo en adolescentes atendidas en el Hospital Provincial General Docente de Riobamba

The study intended to determine the complications in pregnant adolescents, assisted in the hospitalization service of gynecology and obstetrics of the Educational General Provincial Hospital of Riobamba in the term January - December 2014. An applied reserch, of retrospective descriptive and traverse type was carried out, in 285 patients, descriptive statistics the analysis of frequencies, and to determine the demographic characteristics. The main complications observed were: miscarriage 41,4%, pre-terms childbirths 20,7%, urinary tract infections 16,14% and hypertensive disorders 8,42%. The patients that prevailed were from 19 to 24 years, of mestiza ethnic group, secondary school instruction, single status, and urban origin. Pregnancy in the adolescents frequently accompanied of complications that can range from abortion to death
