Тойм:Incidence of allergic rhinitis in students from 12 to 15 years old, from the San José de Tena Educational Unit and from the Juan de Velasco Educational Unit of Riobamba, applying the ISAAC Method, from January to May 2018 Introduction: Allergic rhinitis is the inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nasal passages when it comes in contact with an allergen, generating symptoms such as nasal itching, sneezing, discharge and nasal congestion. The ISAAC group created a questionnaire to apply to people who present these symptoms and diagnose it. Objective: To compare the levels of incidence of Allergic Rhinitis in students of 12 to 15 years in two different geographical areas applying the Isaac Diagnostic Method Methodology: Using the ISAAC method (Internatinal Study of Asthma and Allergies in Childhood), a cross-sectional study, consisting of six questions, we determined the incidence of allergic rhinitis in adolescents of the San José de Tena and Juan de Velasco Educational Units of Riobamba. Results: Students (62.6%) had sneezing, discharge and nasal congestion at some time in their lives. The last year (39.4%) of the respondents had sneezing, discharge and nasal congestion, suggestive of allergic rhinitis. 38% and 32% correspond to ocular itching and tearing in the Juan de Velasco and San José Educational Units, respectively. In Riobamba the exacerbation of allergic rhinitis in December is 14.6% and in Tena during May, 9.4%. In the Juan de Velasco Educational Unit, 13.2% suffer from allergic rhinitis, while in the San José Educational Unit, 15.8% suffer from it. Conclusions: The incidence of allergic rhinitis is higher in the Juan de Velasco educational unit in Riobamba compared to the San José de Tena educational unit. The symptomatology and presence of predisposing factors are directly related, to greater factors more cases reported.
