Итог:ABSTRACT This project consists of investigating whether there is legal protection by the Ecuadorian State to the ancestral symbols of the Cacha - Puruhá culture, for which fundamental topics were developed such as: interculturality, multinationality, ancestral knowledge, ancestral symbols, legal norms , international treaties and conventions, in order to determine what is comprised of ancestral knowledge, in addition to determining whether within these are the ancestral symbols and what the latter represent for Ecuador considering that they are part of the intangible heritage of Ecuadorian culture. In the same research framework, the development and way of life from its origin to the present day of the Puruhá Culture located in the Cacha parish is mainly analyzed, since it comprises one of the most representative indigenous people of Chimborazo province, not only due to the number of members that make up this parish, but also because of the cultural richness it possesses, especially in textile production, its most recognized craft being the coco poncho, clothing that according to the leaders of said Cacha parish they have tried to patent several times but that due to the high costs they had not. In this sense, an analysis was made of the Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador, from which several articles were derived that recognize and protect ancestral knowledge and knowledge, as well as international organizations that contribute to the development of these peoples and nationalities.
