Diseño de un catálogo ilustrado para difundir los personajes femeninos que marcaron la historia del Ecuador

The objective of this study is to design a children's editorial product having digital illustration as the main tool through the author's own style and technique, considering the importance of encouraging reading and knowledge about the participation and protagonist of six women who marked history from Ecuador: Dolores Cacuango, Manuela de Santa Cruz, Carlota Jaramillo, Hermelinda Urvina, Santa Mariana de Jesus and Judith Gutiérrez. The research that has been developed is descriptive and bibliographic, using the synthetic method, carried out with a discretionary sample of 70 pre-adolescents from Riobamba who were determined with the intentional or convenience sampling method. The main technique was used the online survey through GoogleDocs and as an instrument a questionnaire of 21 questions around 3 axes: informative data, knowledge about the history of female characters in Ecuador and reading habits; the bibliographic card that made it possible to collect relevant data on the characters in question; and finally, the interview with a panel of 3 graphic design professionals with an interview guide on illustration and their opinion on the effectiveness of the contribution of this work. Finally, the lack of knowledge about the history of female characters in Ecuador is proven, which is why projecting this content is important and attractive through Cartoon illustration plus the author's own style, which turns out to be effective as an informative and communicative resource for pre-adolescents. Consequently, the development of the proposed editorial product contributes to making visible the historical role of female characters in reference to the new generations, allowing the legacy that these women have left to remain alive
