Análisis del tratamiento informativo sobre violencia de género Diario El Universo, en los meses de julio - diciembre 2020.

The main objective of this research is to analyze the treatment of the contents of the newspaper El Universo on gender violence in the months of July-December 2020, For this, the qualy-quantitative research method was used to gather information on the news to be analyzed to focus on the treatment provided; in addition, it is carried out through interviews and content analysis. The researcher analyzed fifty-four news on gender violence in the established period from July to December 2020. Subsequently, they were analyzed through the content analysis technique, and the results were based on interviews with two communication professionais who have extensive knowledge of the subject. Thus, the results obtained throughout the research show that the information on gender violence in the newspaper El Universo is treated adequately. However, there are minuscule aspects that should be improved. Among them are defining a single section for this topic and providing more excellent coverage with an intersectional perspective on the issues of violence against women. |Finally, with the information presented above, a scientific article was developed that shows the results obtained in the research.
