Résumé:The objective of this study focuses on determining the effectiveness of cognitive stimulation in the cognitive deterioration of older adults. The research is a bibliographic review, with a cross-sectional design and descriptive level. The population was made up of 400 documents published between the years 2013 -2023, in Spanish and English. The sample was non-probabilistic, made up of 56 scientific articles. The following databases were used as sources of information: Scielo, Dialnet, Redalyc.Org and Google Scholar, Elsevier, Pubmed. Literature review and documentary quality review were used as techniques as instruments the CRF-QS matrix. Regarding the results, it was found that the most effective programs are: traditional programs with a combination of demanding daily tasks, physical-cognitive programs and programs using technological means. In addition, it was found that cognitive stimulation improves cognitive performance at the levels of cognitive impairment regardless of the degree of severity in which the patient is. In conclusion, regarding the information consulted, it is important to participate in cognitive stimulation programs regardless of the resources they use, because it helps to increase brain reserve and reduce the chances of developing dementia.
