| Crynodeb: | The purpose of this research project was to describe the relationship between plastic arts and fine motor skills in first grade students of the Adolfo Kolping Educational Unit, during the 2022-2023 school year. Through the development of a qualitative approach, a descriptive scope and a cross-sectional study, the population consisted of 14 students and a teacher of first year of general basic education with the purpose of applying the necessary instruments for the effective collection of information, thus an observation sheet and an interview were used, achieving results that showed that the students present greater weakness in cutting and plastic development, the teacher in the interview suggested that the use of plastic arts is limited to the realization of graphics that illustrate science classes. It is concluded that there is a limited perception of the influence of plastic expression in the maturation of fine motor skills. Therefore, it is recommended that activities related to plastic arts, such as painting, drawing, ceramics, crafts and sculpture, be considered, since this allows children to express their ideas and abilities, which help the development of fine motor skills of the students.
