| Summary: | ABSTRACT: The objective of this work was to obtain washable clothing-type leather using the ZetestanGf polymer during the tanning process at the EL AL-CE leather company, located in the Guano canton, Chimborazo province. For this experiment, the leather was subjected to a standard tanning process, with variations in the neutralization stage where different polymers were used, such as; (ZETESTAN-GF fatliquor: T2. Finishes: water, FIN TEX BLACK S, 697 RE, FILLER SPECIAL 58, UH LINK 35, UH WATER FIX 08 SH, UH WATER FIX 76 MATT, AZIRIDINE, AF 680): T2, after obtaining the leather, the different treatments applied were compared with a control treatment T1 (nappa leather, with three types of fatliquors: sulfated fat, synthetic fat and fatty alcohol. Finishes: compact, pigments, penetrating, stucco, water, hydrolacquer, water, touch, metallic complex). The required amount of leather for the three repetitions of the experiment was 24 units, obtaining enough raw material to carry out the physical-mechanical analyses. The data tabulation was performed in the Microsoft Excel 2010 program. For the statistical analysis of the data, the SPCS version 2020 program was used, selecting the ANOVA method. The mean difference analysis was performed with the Tukey or Bonferroni test (P<0.05). The results obtained in the evaluation of the physical resistance of washable clothing type leather using the ZetestanGf polymer during the tanning process register higher responses in leathers without the application of Zetestan Gf polymer, specifically for softness, resistance to tension and percentage of elongation, which allows obtaining a leather with better characteristics destined for the manufacture of clothing. It is recommended to carry out other investigations regarding the use of polymer Zetestan G-f in the tanning of leather to standardize the quality of the material, ensuring that the consumer obtains a product that does not deteriorate quickly.
