Rehabilitación cardiaca en pacientes con Long Covid.

This research was conducted as a bibliographic review, focusing on the examination of cardiac rehabilitation protocol structures to optimize techniques and update practices for patients with post-disease symptoms. Various scientific and application-based articles were used for information gathering, limited by a series of exclusions explained in the methodology. The coronavirus pandemic has left many aftereffects on humanity, including deaths, psychological problems, and, more significantly, new diseases that attack the immune system, such as Long Covid. This disease arises from a Coronavirus infection, and following this illness, patients develop clinical characteristics that persist and affect their daily activities. Long Covid is a term used to describe the persistence of various symptoms that remain months after contracting a SARS-CoV-2 infection. This phenomenon continuously and recurrently roots itself in the initial Covid symptoms. In Ecuador, the statistics of people infected with Coronavirus from 2019 to 2023 amount to at least 1,076,265, a figure representing more than half of the population. Of this number, at least 3.5% have died, and the remainder exhibit ongoing symptoms that are significantly increasing. These symptoms appear after overcoming the disease and range from minor coughs to arrhythmias and vascular problems. Cardiac rehabilitation encompasses a set of procedures starting from the patient's initial consultation, where anamnesis is performed, to medical discharge, where the patient no longer faces health collapse risks. These programs contribute to the optimal recovery of health standards in individuals. The importance of this process resurged following the Coronavirus pandemic. Physiotherapists aim to fully recover patients through cardiac rehabilitation and prevent health complications that could affect people's quality of life.
