Summary:In the first year of Basic Education in then public school, "Abraham Lincoln" it is described that children come from homes where there is domestic violence, they presented difficulties in the process of teaching and learning, directly affecting their school performance. Considering that domestic violence is very important as it is to any act or omission which consists of physical and psychological abuse, executed by a family member against children or other household members. Where this research is carried out the design descriptive and Quasi Research experimental helped to observe phenomena that occurred in its context the same that was analyzed, the type of field research and biographical were used for collection the information and perform their analysis and interpretation the hypothesis that domestic violence affects school performance of children, discovering findings such as low self-esteem, aggression, insecurity, isolation, fear, etc. it was developed a training manual aimed at parents, teachers and children about domestic violence to improve school performance, the manual is a tool for teachers in the first year of Basic Education, of the Public School, "Abraham Lincoln" . It is concluded that after the investigation, violence affects or injure their mental, moral, emotional and eve intellectual state and this reflects an interference with school performance. It is recommended to disseminate the results of research and propose alternatives for prevention of domestic violence through the implementation of the manual on this issue that contributes to an orientation tending to reduce such cases.
