Manual de bioseguridad para los laboratorios clínicos de Microbiología, Citología y Biología Molecular. Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo, 2018.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says that safety and, specifically, biological safety is of great importance in matters of utility at the global health level (1). That is why the implementation of a manual of biosecurity in the laboratories: E-300 (Molecular Biology and Genetics), E-302 (Microbiology and Parasitology) and E-303 (Cytology and Histology) for the improvement of learning environments in the race , with a descriptive methodology of cross section, the results obtained were tabulated and analyzed in the Statistical Excel program and represented in tables and graphs. We took a population of 197 students, 12 teachers and 2 in charge of laboratories with a total of 211 professionals and students. In the present research project, the level of knowledge about biosafety was evaluated to the population where most of them answered to know these basic topics, but in a minimum part of students, teachers and managers said they had errors in some topics of the applied survey, With the results obtained in the survey I can indicate that a biosafety manual was implemented with updated issues of protocols for different types of accidents, personal physical, chemical and biological protection measures, sample handling guidelines, the generation of common waste, biological , sharp and special, for the welfare of students, teachers and managers and the community in general.
