Achoimre:ABSTRACT: The study of the regression models developed in this research aimed to predict growth patterns in children of 5 years of age who attend medical check-ups at the centers of the Ministry of Public Health in the Chimborazo province. The methodology relied on a cross-sectional study with data from the period 2016-2020 using a deterministic sample. The statistical method was quantile regression. The results allowed for the fitting of four theoretical models for the study of growth patterns in line with the World Health Organization: height and weight for age, weight for height, and body mass index for age, accompanied by the covariates of gender, consumption of snacks, vitamins, breast milk, and solid food. In conclusion, the growth curves of Chimborazo children were generally different from the growth standards of the WHO, except for BMI for age (children under 2 months) and weight for height (up to a height of 100 cm).
