Sumari:The objective of this work is to determine the impact of corruption on the economic growth of Ecuador, period 1995-2021, through an econometric model application. Results obtained in the short term indicate that there is a direct and strong correlation between the model variables, emphasizing that the GDP per capita will grow by 0.34% for each percentage point added in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI), where control variables such as foreign direct investment and average years of schooling are significant at 1%. Likewise, long-term results once again indicate that, the GDP per capita will grow by 1.09% for each percentage point added in the Corruption Perception Index (CPI); and in the same way foreign direct investment, commercial opening and average years of schooling are significant at 1%.
