Miêu tả
Tóm tắt:Rapid urban growth combined with inadequate territorial planning has generated multiple environmental and social challenges along the natural edges of intermediate cities. Within this context, this research focuses on the Las Abras ravine, located on the urban boundary between the cantons of Riobamba and Guano, in the province of Chimborazo, Ecuador. The study aims to identify and analyze the main risk factors affecting this natural area, particularly those associated with informal land occupation, water resource degradation, and the reduction of protection zones. The research is based on a mixed-methods approach that integrates documentary review, fieldwork, and surveys conducted among residents of nearby neighborhoods, supported by macro-, meso-, and micro-scale analyses. The results reveal a high level of environmental and social vulnerability, as well as a widespread perception of insecurity within the study area. Based on concepts related to risk management, green and blue infrastructure, and urban resilience, urban-architectural guidelines are proposed to promote ecological restoration and the incorporation of the ravine as a functional public space, contributing to sustainable urban development.
