| Sumari: | ABSTRACT Binge eating disorder is considered a new diagnosis within the DSM-5, its particular symptoms and the impact it has on the quality of life of patients with obesity is a key topic for research, for this reason, the objective was to characterize the disorder due to binge eating and its influence on the quality of life of patients with obesity, through the methodology of bibliographic review in databases such as Google Scholar, Scielo, PubMed, MDPI and Research Gate, the systematization and selection of the documents was carried out through the bibliographic review matrix (Bonifáz, 2020), which details the impact factor of the journal obtained through the bibliometric indicator Scimago Journal and Country Rank and through the mathematical formula of the citation index of the Average Count technique Citation, which made it possible to obtain 42 scientific documents as a sample. The result of the research shows that binge eating disorder influences the quality of life of patients with obesity, due to the deterioration in the physical, psychological and social areas, it is identified as a risk factor for the behavior of overeating and comorbidity with anxiety and mood disorders, however, the use of psychological therapies for its treatment reduces the present symptoms and helps to improve the living condition.
