Crynodeb:HIV is a disease with high levels of infection during the years around the world. Having a catastrophic diagnosis like this tends to disturb different areas such as the life of the person who has this disease, so the quality of life and resilience are affected. This research was carried out with the objective of analyzing the resilience and quality of life in HIV patients of the HOSPITAL GENERAL DOCENTE RIOBAMBA. We worked with a population of 160 patients, a non-probabilistic sample of 50 people, who were studied through a review of clinical histories, which contain the record of the results obtained in the scale of resilience of Wagnild and Young (ER) and Quality of Life Questionnaire: satisfaction and pleasure. The conclusions were obtained in that way: in low level 46% and in a very low level of resilience 18%. These results represent that patients show a problem to face adverse situations, a high percentage of the overall level of satisfaction and enjoyment quality of life were also identified, with 44% representing a quite satisfactory level, which shows a well-being in patients with their lifestyle and daily activities. With the results and interpretation obtained, psychological strategies aimed at improving the resilience of patients were proposed
