Summary:The study entitled: A tutorial plan to improve the emotional state in students of second semester, room “A” at the National University of Chimborazo in the Faculty of Education, Humanities and Technologies, specialty: Educational Psychology during the academic term 2015, pretended to demonstrate that this tutorial improved the emotional state; due to before the application of this tutorial the students felt depressed, scared, lonely, a deficient academic performance, and inadequate pair work association. The objective of the study is to identify and improve the students’ emotional state of mind; it is a study of a pre-experimental, descriptive, explicative, field, transversal, deductive and inductive type. The sample population consisted of 32 students. For data collection the Psychological test TMMS-24 (Test Inteligencia Emocional) was applied as it is based upon the Trait Meta-Mood Scale (TMMS) that belongs to a group of investigation called Salovey and Mayer. The results showed emotional problems and concluded that students are not able to feel, express, comprehend and regulate their emotions so these factors permitted the elaboration and application of a Tutorial Plan of Action called “Improving my emotional state” which becomes a proposal that provides alternatives to control and handle emotions through workshops that involve perception, comprehension of feelings and emotional regulation. After the application of the test, it can be concluded that the students are not capable to comprehend and regulate their emotional state. It is recommended to boost emotional state, to make decisions, the ability to take distance from harmful emotions as well as the capacity to mitigate positive and negative emotions.
