Insuficiencia renal crónica y estrategia de afrontamiento psicológico. Hospital del Instituto Ecuatoriano de Seguridad Social. Ambato, 2018-2019

Chonic renal insufficiency (CRI) is a catastrophic and irreversible disease that affects the bio psychosocial sphere of who owns it. The diagnosis of this disease involves a drastic change in the life of the individual; to mitigate the damage coping strategies arise. Therefone the present research project aimed to analyze chonic renal failure and psychological coping strategy in patients of the Hospital of the Ecuatorian Institute of Social Security Ambato, 2018-2019. The methodology used is quantitative, bibliographic-documentary, cross-sectional, non-experimental, and descriptive. The population corresponds to 60 clinical histories of patients whit CRF, and the sample is not probabilistic, it concerns 49 clinical accounts, which rest in the dialysis area of the IESS Ambato. An observation sheet used to record the sociodemographic and clinical characteristics of patients with CRF and the results of the Stress Coping Questionnarie in Oncology Patients (CAEPO), which was previously evaluated by mental health personnel. Regarding the results, it evidenced that the types of coping guided by negative thoughts and behaviors are more prevalent, with 36.8% preferably negative and 22.4% negative. From the information obtained through the investigation, it concluded that the most commonly used coping strategy is, flight and distancing because they are shown as passive entities, disregarding responsibility for the treatment of the disease.
