Izvleček: | The main purpose of this research study was to focus on identifying and evaluating the ergonomic risks present in the workplaces of traders and stevedores in the Mercado de Productores Agrícolas San Pedro de Riobamba (EP-EMMPA). For this purpose, an approach was used that combined the situational diagnosis of the workstations and the application of a questionnaire of ergonomic risk factors and injuries. The situational diagnosis made it possible to identify that awkward postures and lifting loads were the most predominant ergonomic risk factors in the workstations studied. Subsequently, the questionnaire was applied to 73 workers, comprising 46 traders and 27 dockers, revealing the presence of neck, back, and shoulder discomfort in the majority of the study population. For risk assessment, the REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) methods were used to assess forced postures, and the NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) equation to assess lifting. These analyses determined a "Very High" risk level in various work activities for both tradesmen and dockworkers. Based on these results, a postural procedures manual was designed specifically for the workplaces in the tropical fruit area. The manual aims to mitigate ergonomic risks and promote safer and healthier working conditions for workers. With the implementation of this manual, the aim is to reduce the incidence of musculoskeletal discomfort and injuries, thus improving the quality of working life of employees in the market, and to serve as a basis for the occupational health and safety technician as a means of training for producers and stevedores. |
