要約:ABSTRACT: Bronchiectasis is a disease characterized by being progressive and irreversible that affects the larger bronchi and bronchioles that, over time, leads to dilation and destruction of areas of the airway. Bronchiectasis complicates mucociliary clearance, being the primary sinobronchial defense mechanism. A variation occurs at any level of the mucociliary system, prevents adequate expulsion of mucus, and permits prolonged contact of the bacteria with the bronchial epithelium. Autogenic drainage is a highly controlled breathing technique that uses different depths and speeds of exhaled air to move mucus up through the airways. It results in spontaneous coughing or, more naturally, what was initially used as a tool to eliminate the production of abundant sputum. In the DA, work is carried out by inhaling at different volumes to act on different lung areas. They also modify aspects such as the amount of air inspired or the speed with which it is exhaled. What is intended is to favor changes in the diameter of the bronchus during inspiration-expiration and the interaction between air-mucus. Antibiotic treatment and physiotherapy are still the mainstay of treatment for patients with bronchiectasis. Keywords: Bronchiectasis, autogenic drainage, respiration, and treatment
