Zusammenfassung:This thesis, entitled “The digital transformation in the public management of the GAD of Ventanas Canton and its impact on operational efficiency in the year 2024”, analyzes how the adoption of digital tools has influenced the administrative processes of this public entity. The general objective was to evaluate this transformation and its relationship with institutional operational efficiency. In public management, digital transformation is a systematic and continuous process that includes both a cultural change within organizations and the implementation of technologies such as artificial intelligence, IoT and big data. This change requires open attitudes, interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous learning, as it changes the way organizations operate, communicate and deliver value. Public policies, legislation such as the Organic Law for Digital Transformation and Innovation, and strategies such as the Connectivity and Digitalization Plan are part of Ecuador's 2024-2030 policy framework for digital transformation. These tactics support the digitization of the public sector, the growth of digital talent and the closing of geographic gaps. In the research work, a mixed methodology was used, applying surveys and interviews to officials of the GAD, among the main findings, it was identified that the vast majority of participants perceive an improvement in response times, which shows a greater agility in management. Finally, by streamlining public administration procedures and resources, digital transformation has improved operational efficiency. By fostering accountable and efficient institutions under the Good Living paradigm, this modification is in line with the SDGs. The implementation of budget management, strategic planning and emerging technologies has improved the equitable distribution of resources and strengthened institutional legitimacy.
