| الملخص: | The present research work aims to determine and characterize the concentrations of sedimentable particulate matter existing at the industrial zone of Riobamba and its surroundings by anthropic incidence to analyze the levels of atmospheric pollution. These levels were achieved based on 20 fixed, established monitoring stations. These were provided by the research project “Determination of sedimentable particulate matter generated by anthropic activity in Riobamba and Chambo” by the UNACH. In addition, this analysis was performed using the passive gravimetric method, which establishes the placement of Petri dishes at the 20 monitoring points between August 19th and September 20th of 2021. Using obtained PMS data during the monitoring period; a comparison was established between the LMP following the guidelines of the WHO and the TULSMA. These displayed a greater concentration at the point 9 with a value of 1.10 (mg/cm2/month), exceeding the LMP established by the Ecuadorian legislation TULSMA and the WHO, and at the point 15 with a minimum value of 0.26 (mg/cm2/month), which is between the standards of the LMP. The insoluble particulate matter was characterized using an optical microscope, the shape of the particle was identified as irregular and spherical. Meanwhile, the pH, chloride ions, sulfate, nitrite, and nitrate levels were analyzed for the soluble fraction of the 20 samples. After, a wind velocity and direction map was established using the data obtained from the meteorological stations (UNACH, ESPOCH, and Tunshi), with a direction to the southeast and an average velocity of 2.49 m/s. |
