Considering that it is necessary to have a preparation and training ranging from the human to the scientific aspect, based on evidences for its correct practice, favoring society with integrity care according to their needs at different stage of life. Nursing care a pediatric patients with severe malnutrition is a difficult problem to eradicate globally. Therefore, it requires of nursing professionals who go beyond just knowing the pathology to establish appropriate care with efficacy, efficiency and effectiveness in a holistic way according to the necessities of them. This clinical case is about a pediatric patient of 3 years old with chronic malnutrition. She was hospitalized for one month in the Pediatric Service of “Hospital Provincial Docente de Riobamba” (HPGR). Valuation tools were applied in the hospital area based on the 14 requirements of Virginia Henderson and for the domiciliary area was developed a valorization supported by the theory of Dorothea Orem. It allowed to know the level of capacity or limitation in self-care and the NANDA main diagnoses were obtained. The results and interventions were made based on the taxonomies of NOC and NIC respectively, attempting to satisfy the self-care needs of the patient. Considering what was mentioned before, it was presented the following nursing process of which the following diagnoses are prioritized NANDA: Deficit in liquid volume. Deterioration of physical mobility. Extra-hospital diagnostics: Shuttle stress syndrome, Constipation. Deterioration of physical mobility. Self-care deficit: food. Self-care deficit: cleanliness and dress. Deterioration of the dentition. Risk of infection. |
