Beskrivelse
Summary:Leukemia is an uncontrolled proliferation of progenitor cells, classified by its myeloid or lymphoid origin and the rapidity of acute or chronic cell production. The objective of this research was to detail the clinical characterizations and laboratory tests that contribute to diagnosing this pathology. This work was descriptive, with a documentary and non-experimental design, with a transversal and retrospective nature. The information was obtained from different scientific bases, with a population made up of 50 articles where the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included, selecting a sample of 34. The results section demonstrated clinical manifestations such as splenomegaly, asthenia, fever, weight loss, and abdominal pain, these being the most common, while laboratory tests such as blood count showed anemia, leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia and thrombocytosis in chronic leukemias with initial stage; In morphology, blasts, and immature granulocytes were analyzed; and finally immunophenotyping found several subtypes of acute myeloid leukemia. In conclusion, age, clinical presentation, and hematological alterations help in the diagnosis of this disease. However, confirmatory tests, FISH, PCR, and immunophenotyping allow the differentiation of each type of leukemia that patients present precisely.
