| Riassunto: | This research project shows the development of an embedded system for helping blind people to swim through the recognition of images. The system is developed in the Python programming language and uses the OpenCV computer vision libraries for the processing of images. The implementation of this system was carried out on the Beaglebone Black mini PC with the Linux operating system, kernel Debian version. The embedded system obtains the information through a web camera connected to the Beaglebone via USB port. The Beaglebone is in charge of the computing part of the embedded system, it processes the information using the OpenCV libraries. It detects objects and provides coordinates in order to know its location, in this way it can guide the user through the swimming pool by using audio commands emitted by the alert system developed. It provides the necessary instructions through audio commands with the purpose of avoiding the swimmer to collide against other people or objects in the swimming pool. The information will be transmitted to the user by using a wireless communication, this information comes through headphones , the voice will guide him/her to perform his/her corresponding exercise, the objective is that the blind person can guide himself/herself inside the swimming pool. A familiarization with the most feasible way to receive instructions in real time is expected. |
