סיכום:This research project was developed with the purpose of assessing the quality of the natural landscape in the Jubal River micro-basin, located in the Alausí canton, Chimborazo province. An analysis of the conditions of the natural landscape was established, using a methodology aimed at determining the landscape units, production systems, and quality of visual absorption (CAV) based on the guidelines established by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) method, which allowed determining qualitative and quantitative values established in numerical weighting scales. The identified landscape units were: moorland, shrubby vegetation, crops, forest, and bodies of water, this type of ecosystems are based on the physiographic conditions and productive activities of the study area. The analysis of the scenic valuation was high for the resources: moorland (Pa) with a score of 22, shrub valuation (Va) 20 pts, forest (Bs) 23 pts and bodies of water (Ag) 24 pts and of average quality for cultivation (Cu) with 15 points, referring to the fact that the micro-basin presents a diversity of colors that enhance the visual quality of the landscape. However, there is a gradual reduction of resources due to anthropic activities. The quality of optical absorption in Pa and Bs was very fragile, while Cu, Va, and Ag, it can be seen that they have medium brittleness. Based on these results, landscape valuation is essential for a correct sustainable management of the territory and to guide decision-making from conservation policies and management of natural spaces.
