Prevalencia de especies parasitarias intestinales en estudiantes de unidades educativas rurales del Cantón Riobamba

The present research is about intestinal parasitism, being a problem that causes serious disorders in the health of the population. The rural sector has been vulnerable to this situation, so it is necessary to determine the prevalence of intestinal parasites in the Units Educational of the rural sector of the Riobamba Canton, relating the infection with the age, sex and the sanitary conditions of the students that you/they go to the different study centers. For this study, 124 samples were collected from 52 male adolescents and 72 females adolescent, between 14 and 18 years, and surveys were obtained to 644 students and as a result 98,39% of parasitism was detected, with a finding of 12 species: 9 of protozoa and 3 of helminthes; The percentage comparison between the prevalence of protozoa (98,39%) and helminthes (16,94%) was considerable. There were no differences of parasitic prevalence between sexes or age groups. A significant number of polyparasitezed individuals were detected (95,90%) and most of the student reported not complying with hygienic measure; In addition, 66,94% consumes water without treatment. The types, of research correspond to a descriptive field cross-sectional bibliographic and quasi experimental process. The inductive method were applied: the technique used were: Direct exam, Kato Katz and modified Ritchie. The conclusions refers to the parasitic prevalence and recommendations to the health situation of the affect population.
