Тойм:ABSTRACT The present research was to compare the resistance to compression forces or vertical forces that a restoration glass ionomer has. The 3M brand Ketac Molar was used, which was subjected to artificial saliva of different pH. For 21 days. An observational quantitative study was carried out with an in vitro-experimental and cross-sectional design. For the study, a set of 30 glass ionomer samples were prepared, which followed the manufacturer's dosages and the ISO 9917-1 standard. Artificial saliva solutions were made with the help of magnesium hydroxide, and citric acid for the samples. Acidic pH and basic pH respectively while for the pieces of neutral pH, no element was added; The samples were subjected to compressive strength tests in the Tinius Olsen Superior Model L120 universal testing machine of the National Polytechnic School of the city of Quito; the results obtained from the compressive strength for the samples in acid solution were an average of 15.23 Mpa, for the examples in neutral solution 22.30 Mpa and for the samples in basic resolution 23.15 Mpa; With the data obtained, an analysis of variance (KRUSKAL WALLIS) was carried out, which did not determine statistically significant differences between the different groups of samples, however, it was statistically possible to demonstrate that the samples subjected to an acid solution present less resistance than those subjected to an acid solution basic and neutral.
