Summary:Ocular traumatisms are emergencies found in any Health Care Center. In Cuba between 10 and 12% of the bilateral blindness and 50% of the monocular is due to this reason. The eye and of the orbit affections can exist in the infants in an isolated way or associated with the manifestation of apparent orbits, skull-facial traumatism and they represent the second most frequent cause that requires emergency pediatric ophthalmologic attention. If the special relevance that they acquire for their ambliogenic potential is added and the possible consequences for the young age of the patients, it becomes an entity that is necessary to dominate in the daily ophthalmologic practice, as it causes visual deficiency, the reason why it becomes absolutely necessary to make a rigorous ophthalmologic exploration that allows to discard a serious ocular lesion. The case of an 8 year-old female patient is presented, who was diagnosed with a strange palpebral foreign body. A surgical treatment was performed, and the evolution was satisfactory, without anatomical, functional, or aesthetic damage.
