| Résumé: | The current research investigation focuses on gross motor skills for balance in children aged 4 to 5 years old at “Capitán Edmundo Chiriboga" Educational Unit, the main objective is to establish activities related to gross motor skills that contribute to the significant development of balance in children. The theoretical framework is mostly related to the variables discovered in this study, such as gross motor abilities and balance. The methodology employed was a mixed approach, with a descriptive non-experimental and cross-sectional design, carried out in the field of study. The target population consisted of the students of the institution, a sample of 28 students of Initial II, parallel “A” was selected. For data collection, an observation form was used to collect the information necessary for the execution of this research. The findings were analyzed using statistical tables and graphs, and they concluded that there is a direct relationship between balance and gross motor skills in children, as it allows them to move with greater dexterity and safety, and these skills can provide them with greater independence and confidence when participating in physical activities. It is important to emphasize that gross motor theory and practice complement each other, so the combination of theoretical activities with playful exercises generates positive results. The proposal contains exercises that are easy to implement both inside and outside the classroom, using everyday materials, to develop gross motor skills. With these activities, teachers can promote the integral development of children in various areas, such as motor skills, cognition, language, balance and socioemotional skills. These exercises include playful and dynamic activities that stimulate learning and physical development, providing children with a solid foundation for their integral development. In conclusion, the integration of gross motor activities in the school curriculum is essential to improve balance and motor skills in children. |
