| Crynodeb: | The present research aimed to determine the characteristics of childhood Autism Spectrum Disorder, the components of Emotional Intelligence in parents, and working methods for autistic children. The research was supported by information from primary sources and the personal contribution of the researcher with reasoning according to reality. The methodology had a mixed approach because the accuracy of the results and the subjective part of the observation of the problem were introduced. In the qualitative approach, the observation technique was used with the observation card instrument, each item with dichotomous responses. The file was directed to the behavior of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to obtain exclusive characteristics of this pathology and functional ways of working within this disorder. In the quantitative approach, the Trait Meta-Mood Escale "TTMS-24" instrument was used as a psychometric technique, which measured the components of Emotional Intelligence in parents of children with Autism. The interpretation of data was executed with techniques proposed by each approach according to the instrument applied. Each variable with its instrument, complemented with the elaboration of tables and graphs in the form of cake, the sample was ten parents and their ten children with Autism. It was possible to obtain the components of Emotional Intelligence, which are attention, clarity, and emotional repair, and the characteristics of Autism: behavior, social interaction, grooming skills, academic skills, and basic behaviors. |
