Configuración de Alta Disponibilidad como medio de aseguramiento de servicios para un data center virtual usando el hipervisor Citrix

The present research allowed the configuration of high availability services for a virtual Data Center using Citrix Hypervisor. To achieve this, the use of Citrix for virtual machine management was investigated and analyzed, followed by an evaluation of high availability techniques in an information technology infrastructure. Finally, a Methodological Guide for the implementation and application of high availability techniques in a virtual Data Center using Citrix software was developed. The study adopts a quantitative approach, establishing the response time indicator for the automatic activation of services once a failure occurs in the backup server. For measurements and results acquisition, the XenCenter notification panel is used in a testing environment, and a comparison is made with other Hypervisors developed in an environment using the same methodology, like VMware and V-Sphere. The average response time difference of Citrix is 2.4 minutes, with a 2-minute difference compared to the results of the other Hypervisors. Therefore, it can be concluded that Citrix offers a solution for small companies or businesses that do not require many services, as the application has restricted usage in the number of sockets or virtualized machines and requires limited resources.
