总结:This research analyzed the motivation and school performance of students of the educational unit "Camilo Gallegos Toledo" of Riobamba, March-July 2017. It is important because the motivation allows the students to carry out any activity and school performance in the stablished subjects. The study had with an objective to analyze the relationship between motivation and school performance in the mathematics subject. Motivation is a hypothetical construct that expresses regulation in behavior, while school performance expresses the value attributed to the student achievement. The methods considered were the inductive-deductive and analytical-synthetic method; under a non-experimental design; by the type of research were field, Bibliographic and Documentary research; by the type of study it was a transverse study; by the level: exploratory, Descriptive, Correlational and explanatory research. The sample was conformed by 31 students of first level of high school in the specialization of science. The applied techniques were psychometric and evaluation, the instruments were the attribution scale of achievement motivation of Manassero and Vázquez conformed by 6 dimensions and 30 questions and the report of scores. The relationship was established using the Pearson statistic after the analysis and interpretation of results, it is concluded that there is a positive correlation between motivation and school performance.
